Notarial transactions with foreign clients

The task
A foreign buyer is acquiring property in Lithuania but does not speak Lithuanian, and the contract has to be signed before a notary.
What I did
The notary’s office sends me the draft in advance so I can go through it. At the signing I interpret the contract into English, and the client’s questions and the notary’s explanations both ways. When needed, I also help the client confirm with the notary in advance which documents are required.
The result
I have worked with this Vilnius notary’s office for years and have interpreted at many other notaries’ offices too. In summer 2026 there were several transactions, and in the autumn a substitute power of attorney for an international medical technology company.

Education · public procurement

Higher education documents under a public contract

The task
A translation agency was taking part in a public tender held by a higher education institution and needed a translator it could trust with all of that client’s work.
What I did
I supplied my rates for the agency’s bid. I now translate the institution’s regulations, procedures and study programmes from Lithuanian into English, matching terms to the institution’s official English names and earlier translations so that all documents stay consistent.
The result
The agency won the tender and entrusted all of that client’s work to me.

Medical device instructions for use and on-screen text

The task
An international dental equipment manufacturer updates its instructions for use and device screen texts in several European languages at once.
What I did
I produce the Lithuanian versions in Trados using the manufacturer’s translation memories and termbase, and shorten on-screen labels to fit strict character limits while keeping them clear.
The result
I resolve quality check comments the same day, often within the hour. I translate for this manufacturer on an ongoing basis.
