Contract translation, English–⁠Lithuanian

I translate contracts as a lawyer: I check not only the words but whether each term in the translation refers to the same legal concept as in the original. I hold a master’s degree in law from Vilnius University and have been translating contracts since 2016.

Each term has to refer to the same legal concept as in the original; otherwise the parties’ rights and obligations change.

share, asset and business purchase agreements;

How I work

I start by building a glossary for the contract: defined terms, party names, references to clauses and legislation. Then I translate, and afterwards I check that numbering, dates, amounts and cross-references all match.

Legal concepts are rendered the way a lawyer in the target jurisdiction would understand them, not word for word. The translation comes back in the same layout as the original.

Price and turnaround

Contract translation with legal review starts at €14 per page excl. VAT, or €17 incl. VAT for private clients (1 page = 1,700 characters without spaces). A contract of a few pages usually takes 1–⁠2 working days. Same-day delivery carries a 50% surcharge. If the document is confidential, we can sign an NDA first.
